Indian Paintbrush financed the $20 million Not Fade Away from The Sopranos creator David Chase. Paramount Vantage put the pic out in the US as a platform release during a crowded end of the year market on December 21 and the film pulled in poor numbers in limited release. Not Fade Away took in $19,182 opening weekend in 3 theaters, with a not very promising $6,394 per screen average. Paramount Vantage expanded the picture in its second weekend to 19 theaters, where it made $54,795 with a poor $2,884 per screen average. Paramount Vantage then expanded Not Fade Away to 565 theaters in its third week to a disastrous $270,088 with a $478 per screen average and promptly lost most of its theater count at the end of the week. The film quickly closed with just $610,792. Not Fade Away was given a tiny theatrical release only in Turkey to only $25k.
