Undiscovered was financed for a modest $9 million by Lionsgate and Lakeshore Entertainment. Lakeshore handled international sales with Cinerenta. Lionsgate distributed in the US and opened Undiscovered in 1,304 theaters and it received awful reviews and pulled in a disastrous $676,048 with a $518 per screen average. It placed far outside the top 10 at #20 when holdover The 40-Year-Old Virgin won the weekend, followed by new opener The Brothers Grimm. Audiences gave the pic a terrible C- cinemascore and Undiscovered currently holds the record for the biggest second weekend drop at 86.4% where it pulled in $91,748. It was yanked out of release after its second week with only $1,069,318. Lionsgate would see back about $550,000 after theaters take their percentage of the gross, which barely covers any of the modest P&A costs and their exposure to the budget. Overseas, the film saw a small release in Turkey to $13,466.
