Budget estimates for Rogue range from $20 million to $30 million and was majority financed by the Weinstein’s Dimension label and also had funding by Village Roadshow. After numerous delays and release date shuffling in the US, Dimension released Rogue through a newly formed label called Third Rail Releasing, which would give a minuscule theatrical release to films aimed at the video market. The pic was basically dumped in 10 theaters for one week to just $10,452. Recorded domestic home video sales were only $3 million. Village Roadshow distributed the Australian production in its home country to a disappointing $1,673,693 total. Rogue pulled in poor numbers in the few countries it found a theatrical release to a worldwide total of just $4.6 million and went straight to video in most countries.
