Disney took an unreported, but estimated $50 million write down on G-Force, which pulled in decent worldwide numbers, but would fall victim to its huge $150+ million budget and expensive ad spend. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who is no stranger to bloated budgets and huge box office rewards, G-Force would begin a downward trend for the producer, who would release expensive flops Prince of Persia, Sorcerer’s Apprentice and The Lone Ranger in the following years. G-Force opened in the US to a soft start for such an expensive title with $31,706,934 but managed to have enough legs to gross a total of $119,436,770. Overseas the film saw a solid $173.3 million but with $250+ million spent on the budget and worldwide marketing, a $292.8 million worldwide gross before theaters take their percentage, led to the huge loss for the mouse house.
