Co-financed for $15 million by Fox Atomic, Dune and Cold Spring Pictures, Post Grad was a left over picture from Fox Atomic after FOX closed down the branch. The film was released with little hype and a soft marketing spend by FOX to a terrible $2,651,996 opening in 1,959 theaters — where it placed outside the top 10 at #11 against opener Inglorious Basterds and holdover District 9. Post Grad declined 44.6% to $1,467,947 in its second frame and lost most of its theater count and closed its US run with $6,380,019. FOX would see about $3.4 million after theaters take their percentage of the gross, which barely puts a dent in the modest P&A costs and was dumped straight to video in most countries and had a token theatrical release in France, Italy and Spain to $181,224. Recorded domestic home video sales were just $2.3 million (less after resellers take their cut and manufacturing costs).
