The Guardian - Budget: $70m, Gross: $55m (domestic), $95m (worldwide).

The Guardian is one of the few films I can’t find any info on the budget during pre-production or at the time of release. There’s nothing from Disney or Beacon in any press release or anything from the trades. After the film did mediocre business at best, the $70m pricetag appeared online. I’ve also seen $80m and $90m thrown around, but it if were that high Disney would have listed the film as a major loss in their financial investor reports. I skipped it because it made about $55m in DVD sales in a few weeks.

That’s pretty low budget and it didn’t really get a theatrical release, so no money was spent on P&A. Millennium Films made a deal to fund a few indie pics from producer Lati Grobman for under $15 million. They all were basically festival products that went straight to video in most of the world.
